Different insoles are available for Black Eagle Athletic 2.1 GTX high to increase or reduce the volume in the shoe. For this purpose, we have developed a slightly thicker insole for narrow feet and a slightly thinner insole for wider feet.
Our Vario-Wide-Fit-System allows you to adjust the volume in the shoe.
The Black Eagle Athletic 2.1 GTX high has been tested according to the standard DGUV 112-191 (BGR 191) and is therefore approved for orthopaedic insoles.
This allows the Black Eagle Athletic 2.1 GTX high to be adapted even more optimally to the foot and to support its anatomical structure.
HAIX shoes are 100% Made in Europe. For us, this is not just lip service, but lived practice. The differences between our various Black Eagle Athletic models can be taken from the item description. Some models are made of suede or nubuck leather, others have a Gore-Tex membrane that makes the shoes waterproof.

While the Athletic models have a somewhat plainer colour scheme, Adventure models are designed with bright, eye-catching colours. There are no functional differences.

We produce in a UK shoe size system. The distance between our half UK sizes is only a few millimetres. This makes it more likely to find exactly the right shoe length.
Half UK sizes differ in length by only a few millimetres.
You can simply wash the dirty shoes with water and a brush. Please do not dry the wet shoes (even if they are wet on the inside) on an open fire, a hot stove or a heater. This will change the shape of the shoe. Simply remove the footbed and stuff the shoes with newspaper or use a shoe tree. Then allow the shoes to air dry slowly. We recommend washing the footbed regularly at 30°. In general, it is best to remove the footbed from the shoes after every wear to ensure optimal re-drying.
Simply clean it with a brush and water and let it air dry.
From experience, the Black Eagle Athletic 2.1 GTX high is a normal size. We therefore recommend that you choose the usual size.
Experience has shown that the shoe fits normally.

They are made with high-quality Gore-Tex, which I’ve already tested in the rain—absolutely no leaks, keeping my feet dry and comfortable. The fit is excellent, providing good support right out of the box. The only thing I would improve is the lacing system. I wish these came with the automatic closure system that some of their other models feature, but overall, these boots are a fantastic choice for anyone looking for reliable all-weather footwear. Highly recommended!

Supports the ancle. The heel is fixated and padded, so it does not matter if you are standing still for a prolonged period or hiking, your feet feels well rested. Great boot
I was able to put these on and wear straight away! No blisters ... something I usually suffer from!! It’s the first time I’ve had a higher boot so it’s taking a bit longer to wear them in from that perspective but very comfortable otherwise. I intend to use them for dog walking across all terrains and have every confidence they’ll be perfect!

Long and narrow
These boots seem to be very well made, but they are not very generous width-wise at all. I purchased some of the PerfectFit wide yellow insoles which made virtually no difference to the red medium width ones supplied with the boots. They are very long fitting. I take either a uk10 or 10.5 and purchased a 10.5. Measured against all my other shoes or boots they were easily the equivalent of a size eleven in length. The next part of this review process asks me if the fit was too small, too large or suitable. Because of their narrowness I will put too small, but they are very long.

Great lightweight boot for extreme use.
I'm on my second pair of these, they get very tough use with a lot of abuse. They remained waterproof for over 2 years & only finally cracked & leaked well into the third. The weight means they are easy to run in plus they offer great ankle support. No leather means they are suitable for vegans & lots of my colleagues have also chosen to use them.

Wouldn't wear anything else
I've worn many different types of high end walking boots over the years from Scarpa, Salomon, Mammut etc and non compare to these boots. These are my second pair of general purpose lightweight boots, I originally had the leather version of these boots. I also wear the safety boots for work and my colleague wears a pair of Haix safety boots too under my recommendation. The first pair of general boots lasted for roughly 1000 miles, and these new one have filled the hole the others left. Walked 80 miles in the first week with them, no blisters or aches and the fact they are so lightweight helps with keeping up a good pace! The fit is excellent especially as Haix are one of only a few who offer 1/2 sizes, width is perfect so no rubbing. The inner arch is extremely well supported so no pronation as you walk. The lace system is fantastic allowing for two different levels of grip between the foot and ankle support and then having the ability to tuck the laces away keeps the ends clean when the going gets muddy! I really am a complete Haix convert and will never buy a different brand of boots again!

Second pair
These boots are basically straight out the box comfort no breaking in needed. Trekking 10/15 miles and walking these boots are amazing. This is my second pair of the HAIX BLACK EAGLE ATHLETIC 2.1 GTX HIGH/BLACK and will be buying a 3rd.

Couldn't be happier
Bought these for a mix of hiking and trail running and they're perfect for both, really lightweight and supportive. Fit really nicely, took them out for a 15 mile hike the first weekend I had them and had no discomfort throughout. Would definitely recommend them, and should I need boots again I'll definitely come back
